Healthy Food

Improving the quality of foods you eat should be the primary vehicle in achieving better health for anyone.

In fact, Hippocrates, the Father of Modern Medicine once famously declared:

“Let thy food be thy medicine and thy medicine be thy food.” --Hippocrates (460-377 BC

However, one main obstacle is that the foods today simply aren't as healthy as they once were decades ago, or back in Hippocrates' time.

Large studies have now shown that because of depletion in the soils due to mass commercialized farming techniques, fruits and veggies now greatly lack the vitamin and mineral content they once did.

But that's not the only problem; other serious misgivings about food nowadays are: preservatives, chemicals, artificial dyes, colors, and flavorings.

One of the solutions is to buy only fresh organic produce. It's a bit more expensive, but well worth it not only in terms of health, but taste.

The second problem is that the meats we eat are also a lot less healthy for us because of mass commercial production.

Here's why...

Major meat products, such as cattle, are fed grains (not grass, which is their natural food), are over treated with growth hormones, antibiotics, and are not allowed to free range as nature intended.

This is why, after much research...we are proud to recommend Grassland Beef (now known as US Wellness Meats)

The Grassland Beef farmers allow their cattle to be raised as nature intended: to roam freely, and to eat a natural diet of grass instead of artificial feed.

The result is beef that contains much lower levels of saturated fat, and increased levels of substances that have been proven to reduce heart disease and clogged arteries.

Conjugated Linoleic Acid, or CLA:

This is a substance that occurs naturally in beef. This amazing compound has been shown to combat arteriosclerosis, or clogged arteries.

Cattle who are fed artificial diets and who live in stressed, artificial conditions make beef that contains 30-40% less CLA. Grassland Beef cattle have more heart-healthy CLA because they are allowed to graze and to eat their natural diet.

Omega 3 fatty acids

These, as most people are now aware of, are an important contributor to human health.

Studies have shown that Omega 3 fatty acids help to prevent heart disease and to slow its effects.

Omega 3 fatty acids are found in green, leafy foods, and are converted during the cattle's digestive process into a readily bio-available form that humans can use. Grassland Beef contains more Omega 3 fatty acids because its cattle eat more green, leafy foods (grass)....not grains.

Back to CLA again for a moment.. .

Found in significant levels in Grassland Beef, CLA has been shown to prevent and suppress cancer growth. In fact, CLA was discovered by Michael Pariza during his anti-cancer research at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Multiple scientific studies, using both laboratory animals and humans, have concluded that CLA prevents and suppresses cancer.

Omega 3 fatty acids have also been shown to have a cancer-fighting effect. These anti-carcinogenic substances are found in higher concentration in grass-fed beef, such as Grassland Beef.

CLA is also shown to reduce body fat.

Several studies have shown that there is a definite correlation between increased CLA intake and decreased body fat, and a positive correlation between increased CLA and increased lean body mass. The same studies even link higher CLA consumption to reduced rates of diabetes! Grassland Beef has up to 40% more CLA than beef that is produced conventionally.

CLA is now being incorporated into certain weight loss dietary supplements, but the best sources always come in their natural state in food itself.

Are you worried about the chemicals you consume in traditional supermarket meat products?

Chemicals find their way into conventional beef in numerous ways. Feed is grown using pesticides and herbicides, which cattle ingest. Cattle are treated with unnecessary antibiotics, and meat processors add preservatives and additives.

Grassland Beef cattle graze on chemical-free pastures, and are not given unnecessary antibiotics. You can be sure that Grassland Beef is never processed with preservatives or additives. You can be sure you're eating the cleanest, most chemical-free beef available.

Grassland Beef Cattle are Humanely Treated!

Unlike conventional cattle, which are forced to spend their days inside a barn, Grassland Beef is committed to raising cattle in a natural, humane setting. Cattle are allowed to graze in a natural, stress-free environment, and always have access to fresh water. The result is beef that you can feel good about eating.

The bottomline: Grassland Beef (called US Wellness meats to reflect their expanded product line to more than just beef) is a delicious, nutritious way to stay healthy or help reclaim your health.

And we mean delicious....you will NOT find beef that tastes like this in any supermarket -- and certainly not as healthy.

In fact, we were just looking at the "healthy" meats in the supermarket the other day, and although we found beef raised without antibiotics and growth hormones, they were still unfortunately raised being grain fed, not grass fed.

And that will make consumers miss out on most of the important health benefits.

We have found another incredible company from which we have ordered and sampled their products. As we all know, eating fatty fish high in omega-3's is one of the best ways to improve our health. However, the problem is most fish is tainted with pollutants such as mercury.

Well now we have found an absolutely pristine source of fish, especially wild salmon. Believe me, if you've eaten store bought salmon....you won't believe the difference in taste in these pristine wild salmon that have been independently verified to be contaminant free.

Do yourself a favor and at least visit their website to find out why if you're serious about improving your health, you won't want to pass up on adding their products to your daily diet.
