It is important for a woman to know when she is entering menopause. There are several indicators that will provide evidence that menopause is beginning. The most obvious factor is the most common age range in which the period prior to menopause begins, which is known as perimenopause.

What is sudden menopause?
Sudden menopause, also known as either instant or surgical menopause, occurs after the removal of the ovaries and uterus, by a surgical procedure called a hysterectomy. The symptoms experienced, after the onset, are very similar to those of regular menopause.
The difference is that there is no pre menopause period; the condition arrives with little, or no, warning. In this case, the usual plan of attack to reduce the symptoms of menopause can be used, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT) or by using one of the available natural supplements to reduce menopause symptoms.
How long does menopause last?
There is no specific time length for how long menopause will last. The actual symptoms will last during the transitional period to no longer having a menstrual cycle that occurs with regularity.
However, the results of completion of menopause will affect a woman for the rest of her life. They are at higher risk for development of osteoporosis and heart disease, which are secondary effects of having decreased levels of estrogen in the blood.
