Is there a Psoriasis cure?
Psoriasis cure or treatment?
Before we discuss if there is a psoriasis cure or psoriasis treatments, let's discuss what is it....
Psoriasis is a condition in which the skin becomes red, inflamed, covered by scales and flakes easily.
Areas affected by psoriasis are often itchy, and can appear anywhere on the body, although the scalp and joint areas are most common.
Millions of people in US alone suffer from psoriasis, with hundreds of thousands of new cases documented yearly.
Current understanding is that psoriasis is an inflammatory response: the body's immune system seems to targets its own cells. The result it that new skin cells replicate at an extremely elevated rate, leading to the buildup of plaque-like flakes within days; this process normally should takes months.
My quest for a Psoriasis cure or effective Psoriasis Treatment
Writing this page on psoriasis is very personal because I am a sufferer of the condition.
For most of my life, it was absent, but in my late twenties, it suddenly flared up.
If you suffer from psoriasis you know how not only uncomfortable the condition can be; but how
embarrassing and humiliating as well.
People view you as some sort of leper, even though psoriasis isn't contagious. Your self-esteem suffers, and you become frustrated, even angry.
The bad news is that there is no current psoriasis cure or definitive treatments.
However, there are many steps you can take to control your condition while medical advancements continue to work on a possible psoriasis cure.
Some other areas concerning psoriasis I will cover in more detail are:
psoriasis of the scalp, psoriasis diet, mechanism of psoriasis, psoriasis tanning, scalp psoriasis remedies, psoriasis scalp treatment, vitamins and psoriasis, psoriasis home remedy, safety of topical psoriasis agents, natural remedies for psoriasis, homeopathic treatment for psoriasis.
Dietary and Lifestyle Steps for Psoriasis
In my quest to cure my own psoriasis, I attempted to understand as much as I could about the condition. As a result, I ended up reading scores of books about psoriasis.
What I am offering is a brief distillation of the steps that seemed to personally work as my psoriasis cure. They may or may not help you, but it is my hope they will.
And when I say psoriasis cure I do not mean it in any definitive medical sense. What I mean is that for years now I have been psoriasis free, which has, in short, given me my life back. To me, this is the next best thing to an actual psoriasis cure.
However, it is always possible that the condition could flare up again at some point in the future.
So, I have not really found a psoriasis cure, but rather ways to effectively control the condition for myself such that I do not suffer from it anymore.
Please remember that this is not medical advice. I am not a doctor.
These are the personal actions I've taken to cure my own psoriasis.
1. Psoriasis supposedly becomes more severe in those whose immune systems are suppressed.
Therefore, I researched products that could boost my immune system and contained ingredients that Naturopathic physicians recommend for this psoriasis.
The formula I take now is Total Balance, which is the best I've found to date.
2. Alcohol, sugar, and caffeine consumption seems to exacerbate psoriasis, from personal experience and from what I've read. Therefore, I now abstain from these substances as much as possible as part of my psoriasis cure.
3. Stress can make psoriasis worse. As part of my personal psoriasis cure protocol, I perform some sort of relaxation technique everyday such as meditation.
4. Not getting enough sunlight can make psoriasis flare up more strongly. However, when you have this condition, you don't like to be out in the direct sunlight where the psoriasis is plainly visible. That's why I purchased and use a UVB Phototherapy system, which I can use in the privacy of my own home.
5. Years ago, there was a product that was sold over-the-counter called "Skin Cap."
I was eventually able to get some and it worked wonders for my psoriasis.
However, it later became controversial because some tests claimed the product contains prescription strength steroids, and, therefore, it was not legal to sell over-the-counter. The company to this day denies the claim.
Many Distributors (I am not one of them) still sell it over the Internet as a psoriasis cure, because the company is not based in the US.
I no longer personally use it because I have now been psoriasis free for years, but it was a highly effective psoriasis cure or treatment for me--and for many others based on what I've read.
In any case, I firmly believe I was able to create a psoriasis cure for myself because of the total--that is, holistic--approach I took.
